Vesper 14: The Will to Knowledge

This issue of ‘Vesper’ urges reflection on the figures of the “will to knowledge” in the new millennium. Questions of surveillance, of the constant and widespread mapping of life in its social and biological dimension, of ubiquitous visibility, of the collapse of the limits between inside and outside, of wakefulness, and of private life are all explored through artistic and design forms. The theme evokes both the symbol of infinity – to express the limitless scope of knowledge – and the labyrinth, indicating its intricate structure and the countless possible paths through it. The various contributions encompass prison architecture, libraries, interactive and symbolic machines, and more.
